Thursday.Oct.11.2001 Paul Van Dyk put on quite the performance last night -- impeccable mixing combined with hearing some of his new remixes live just totally made my night. His last date here in February was a dissapointment to say the least -- however he more than redeemed himself to the Toronto fans. He played quite a number of tracks from CD 2 of his upcoming mixed CD The Politics Of Dancing - hearing Connector - Interference on the phazon system at Guvernment was a crystal clear moment. The set was just over 3 hours long and did not include any sleeper tracks catchy basslines were prevalent with some mixing tricks to boot. I previously looked at his "Live at Home, London" set from April 2000 as his best ever post-1999 set - this has since changed. It was funny last night when I think it was stereoprincess that asked which was a better set "PVD or Tiesto?" and myself, Fuzion, Hal20 & Stereoprincess all said PVD in unison.. haha... Classic. |
Monday.Jan.07.2002 Added to New Tracks: (Live Sets) Talla 2xlc - "Live From Kinki Palace" I finally finished programming the automated streaming of mp3 samples posted in the forums that people needed to have identified (Artist / Title / Remix, etc). It requires a version of Internet Explorer 5 or higher (with Java Plugin support, Real Player and java support. If you need the java plug-in then you can download it here. If you are good at trainspotting (IDing tunes) then head over to www.UnknownTracks.com and take a listen. To ID a tune you must be a registered member of the forums. It's the first big test of the system so if something messes up (or you don't hear anything) then come back later, something may have messed up. :) |
